Scottish Enterprise and Innovate UK are collaborating to deliver a new Launchpad programme. The programme will support businesses in Scotland, specifically in the bio-based manufacturing industry.

These businesses have been invited to apply for support packages which may range between £25,000 to £100,000 and £150,000 to £1 million. These are available to small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) and businesses of any size, respectively, to promote the growth of the sector in Scotland.

The Launchpad competition – also supported by Forth Valley College and IBioIC – is designed to build on innovation clusters around the UK that have significant potential to deliver jobs, growth and higher productivity.

Successful applicants will receive up to £100,000 (100% funded) for single SME-led projects, under the Minimal Financial Assistance competition strand, or up to £1m (25% to 70% funded) for Collaborative research and development projects led by a UK business of any size, under the CR&D competition strand.

Applications will close 13 December 2023 11:00am UK time, To lead a project your organisation must:

  • be a UK registered micro, small or medium-sized enterprise (SME)
  • be active or growing your work activities in the bio-based manufacturing innovation cluster in Scotland
  • have a demonstrable ambition for business growth
