After two years of construction the new Unilever research and development centre opens in Merseyside, Uk.

The R&D facility features a pilot plant which will allow scientists and engineers at Unilever to test new ideas on a factory scale. The site director Cameron Jones is delighted to announce the official opening of the advanced manufacturing centre.

The new R&D facility signifies the company’s commitment to creating new innovative products, further improving the quality of manufacturing and accelerating its ability to roll out even more winning products across the world.

Unilever’s new facility is supported by investment from the UK Government’s Regional Growth Fund and has been configured to allow close working with industrial and academic partners. The site will test new and transformational technologies and will house replica equipment and conditions found in Unilever sites around the globe.

The company hopes that this will allow its team of scientists and engineers to create consumer-focused innovations and quickly scale them for the global supply chain team.
